Bitter orange essential oil has a fresh, citrus, but also slightly bitter aroma, and is orange / yellow in color. This oil is extracted by cold pressing the skin of the Seville orange fruit.
Bitter orange essential oil is considered by many to be slightly more powerful than its counterpart sweet Orange. It is known to have cleansing, toning and purifying properties and is therefore frequently used in skin care.
Its fragrance is said to have a clarifying effect on the mind and is therefore often used to combat stress.
